How are Groups and Guilds different?

Guilds are divisions within NCSC that bring people together to further their goals.
Groups do the same thing, but they are aimed at non-members.

These groups will work together to further guild goals, but they have the potential to grow into self-supporting organizations. That is the main difference between the two.

Groups that are now forming include:

Ruminations -Ruminations is a quarterly magazine that has been published for more than 20 years. NCSC President/ Editor Pat Stewart is looking for help in bringing the magazine to a higher level. Looking for writers, photos, poems, etc. There is no pay involved at this time, but it's a change to grow a resume, hone some skills and benefit the sustainable agriculture/goat community around the nation. Please help.

Foodsourcing Group - brings existing co-ops, customers and new ventures together. (bulk orders, customer orders, etc.)

Goat Group - An outgrowth of our Goat Guild, this group may grow into a formal Massachusetts Goat organization. Areas that will be considered are DHIA training and testing, meat co-op, technology sharing.

Technoshare - This group may grow into a technology service group, or not. Thoughts in this area include webinar work, sharing high end technology pieces, recording studio, and other projects yet to be discovered!

Long Term Projects - Part of NCSC's mission is build local economy and environmental awareness. Pat Stewart has invited two very successful educational tools and has agreed to give them to NCSC to develop as fund raising tools. Interested in helping with these projects? Get in touch with Pat. One is a early childhood toy. The other is an educational tool usable for grades 3 to adult.
